Boréal

Boréal builds aluminum centreboard expedition yachts in Tréguier, Brittany — around ten boats a year, one at a time, with an order book that runs two to three years deep. The yard was founded in 2005 by Jean-François Delvoye, a self-taught designer who spent six years sailing with his family, the last two in the channels of Patagonia, and came home to build the boat those waters had taught him.

The boats share a signature: marine-grade aluminum hulls, a lifting centreboard over a ballasted keel embryo that lets them dry out upright anywhere in the world, and a glazed pilothouse with a watertight door from which the boat can be run without going out into the weather.
